Then go for the restyling, and you’ll have a real monster on your hands. There’s tons of aftermarket support for the ZRX (the bike from which you’d be sourcing the engine, triple trees, and forks); you can upgrade to Öhlins front forks; the Kawi 1164cc engine is readily upgraded to a displacement of 1224cc....
This could be a fun project ;-)

carbs were out of commission most of the summer waiting on parts. then when i finally got it running my forks leaked all over my brakes. haven’t fixed that issue yet.

oooh I didn’t realize the old concourse had good lines to the frame like that. Hell, why not? Do it, at least start by ditching the fairing and put a nice little round headlight on it and some more aggressive bars

They can be found VERY cheap. Id personally go for a 2nd gen fuel injected.model
